Wireless Devices: March 21, 2007 Two thoughts about the use of wireless devices in interface design are: First it is important to be able to create images and icons for small screens that contain navigational content and secondly according to Web Style Guide, when designing for such a media, let interaction be user-driven. An example of a site that I like is LetsTalk.Com. which is a Web site with different wireless devices.
I created this wireless, touch-screen, palm-size phone/Blackberry that is capable of surfing the Web through the Settings icon. It has a hard drive to store photos, video and you can download MP3s, then store them on its hard drive or burn to disc through the USB interface. It is also capable of some serious text-messaging and of course it's named after me. The challenge was designing for a small screen, and giving giving it a realistic look, which I accomplished using FireWorks/PhotoShop/Flash. : : Click here to see creative process >>
